Ok, another create a team. This time, for legends. decide on either 300 or 400 pts.

The team I made was
Nessie
Freddy vs Jason
Jason vs Freddy
The Fiend

This team is 400 pts and offers +5 plot twists. After the "Rule of 3" is applied, every member has 13 attack. Odds are, they won't miss. Unfortunately though, this team has failed me twice in testing against sheer numbers. Of all things, Sasquatch owned Fiend. Suggestions?

Your legends team is short on ranged attacks, no pun intended. Try adding a Tooth Fairy or Ringmaster. THeir range attacks are posession-based, which can be very troublesome to your opponent.

There is a downside to putting in weak legends... Nessie's other effect. If a legend dies, all of your legends take 1 damage. Sasquatch maybe... but not a tooth fairy.

Sasquach doesn't have range attacks either, which was the weakness that I saw.

True, I wasn't forgetting that detail. Just when that one guy/gal who shows up with an all-guardian army (and they almost all have some range capability in excess of 2 spaces), leveling the playing field some with range attacks can be a life-saver., IMO.

Well, I never played the Tooth Fairy or Ringmaster with a Legend based team cause in my opinion, they both kinda suck. Plus Nessie's power to increase their attack doesn't work for ranged combat so their mind control won't be as effective as throwing in Freddy vs Jason who has Possession with the increased attack. If you wanted someone who has range and still can be used in the Legend category, there is a little known figure from Freakshow named Templar, guardian and legend, can attack with range (w/o bonus) or close combat with his righteousness.

A few weeks ago, at my local store, we had a 800 point keyword based event, meaning your team's monsters all have to have the same keyword in their name (legend, vampire, etc). Here was mine:

Nessie
Templar
Mad Monk
The Fiend
Grendel
Freddy vs Jason
Jason vs Freddy
Death

And there were three other Legend armies and I won the whole tournament.....mainly because Nessie was basically sitting pretty in the starting area so no one could take out my bonuses.

I played a 500 point Legends-themed army yesterday. It was Nessie (of course!), Tomb Mummy (thanks GutMuncher!), Mad Monk, The Fiend, & Vlad the Impaler. The other two (Bill & Church) each had Gremlins (2 & 1, respectively), which was damned good at styming my attempts to get victims, but once it was monster on monster, all I needed to do was to not roll snake-eyes, and I was putting the smackdown. I lost, only after they realized the Hamonic Convergence was going to get VERY NASTY.

The 800 point tournament didn't take too long, the standard time was allowed and each turn consisted of 4 actions. It was a good time. The tournament was my idea, since Wizkids decided to screw is over, at my local comic store, each month two of our players make the weekly games for that month. This month was me and the comic store owner. This Saturday is a unique idea, each player makes a 300 point army, and then everyone takes a number. Everyone rolls a dice and whatever number you roll is the army you play with. I built a team of monsters no one has used in the store.

It's gonna be fun.....
