yay! i got my first horrorclix LE figure today. Wacko Jack o Lantern is my first. Thank you Wacko Jacko, you crazy moonwalkin' psycho from the freakshow pumpkin patch, you, thank you. and your little monkey, too!

and another Yay! for my first Cthulhu kill last night. my jason voorhees dealt the killing blow. apparently, cthulhu slept thru that series of movies, and the remake. you just don't mess with the new blood jason. Cthulhu is fun. i knew i didn't wear my big cthulhu feet slippers for nuthin.

so i know i'm behind the curve on the game and all and for that reason probably have to get my figures a lot differently then everyone did when they first came out, so it got me wondering, maybe you all would like to reminisce, what was your first Horrorclix LE? i likes my wacko jacko Happy hope he's good in battle, too!

My first LE was my store event kit. Bought it on ebay two weeks ago. Figure-wise....We'll see what I get in my mystery box that's coming soon that my bro and I bought together. It includes a great chuthulu. But, that's for my bro. So, it doesn't really count for MY first LE. But the guy had 400+ figs that he's been collecting. So, I figure there should be at least one LE somewhere in there.

sweet! cthulhu rocks. i lucked out and got mine for $40. it didnt have all the cultist tokens it was supposed to but i had them color copied at staples front and back then cut them all out with an X-acto knife and glued them front and back and had them laminated. they look just as good if not better than the originals. these are sturdier due to the lamination and waterproof too. that cthulhu can get ater everywhere u know?
good deal. can't wait to hear what you got.

Well some les had silver and some had bronze, the Wacko Jacko is really a chase figure, so it isn't prize support but it is still harder to find then a regular unique.

I think bronze are ultra rares in packs and Silver are special things like mails in and con specials and such. May be wrong though. Very new to this and still trying to figure it all out.

My first was The Widow, as a prize for showing up to my first in-store game & kicking ass. Bunch of Hellspawn tromped... heh, heh, heh... Twisted Evil

To clairify: Unique's & LE's all had siver rings in the Base set, and in the Lab the LE's got the Bronze ring, and the Unique's remained silver. Then Nightmares came along, and threw a monkey wrench into the mix by doing away with R/E/V/U/LE, and going with Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super-Rare, and only 1 released LE: The Poltergiest. Razz

My opinion of the poltergiest is that he's tough, but he goes down pretty easy. No damage reduction, but an area attack is handy. Ghost is cool, too.

This post is win for the day. Thanks for clearing that up. I never would have figured all that out. What's the point of having a system if you aren't going to follow it?

Thanks for the props. That is kind of corny, but then again, they did minor cosmetic changes from set to set that annoyed the heck out of me. For instance, the monster cards had a color-coded blood dot for Base & Lab, then went to buzzsaws from Freakshow to Nightmares. They rounded the edges of the monster cards in FS, and then made the cards slightly bigger in NM. The PT's in NM are bigger than the rest, and the FvJ PT's are the same material as the monster cards everywhere else, not cardstock like in previous sets. Then there's the little "20th Century Fox" logo on the back of the Scientist victims from the AVP sets, which don't exist anywhere else, so mixing in some of those with other vicims is annoying, since you can pick them out without flipping them over. For those of us who have the uber-rare chase victim, the Gamer, (I think from InQuest) that victim is slightly smaller than all of the other victims/ minions. Annoying as hell, IMO, but I can be a little anal about stuff like that.

Yeah...that's gonna bug me too when I get those. I'm at the blissfully NOOB stage where I don't know what's going to annoy me yet Happy. That Inquest token is gonna kill me I know it. First off, I'm a collector....so I MUST HAVE IT! Then it's going to be flawed. So, I'll be pissed. *SIGH* I just can't win. Oh well, I'll figure something out.

yeah for real, i noticed that as soon as i got my FvJ set about the PTs. i didn't even really bother to read them after that. i mean what good are they if everyone knows ur holding them cause they are different. that really sucks if they happen to be good PTs. if they are maybe i'll use the advice i got for making the custom PTs people have posted and get them printed on sticky paper then trim them up to fit on the millions of double PT cards I have. that would work. god knows i don't know what else to do with all those cards i have in quadruplicate. i'm not a big fan of any of those card changes myself.
one of my favorite things about the sculptures were the little differences they would have depending on rank. thought that was a pretty cool idea. then the fact that they threw that idea out for nightmares and made them all the same is kind of lame. seems like a cop out.

Well, the PT's being different isn't THAT big an issue in the play of the game. Most of the time, we're too busy looking at the movements of our pieces to worry too much about the PT's our opponents have... until they are played on us!

i haven't bought any nightmare boosters yet, are the PTs in those the same heavy card stock? if so why did they make the FvJ Pts like the character cards? it seems like they were destined to fail in business with all the total screw ups.

Yeah, the NM PT's are in cardstock, but are slightly larger than all of the otehr PT's. I can't give an authoritative explaination for this beyond WK's piss-poor quality-control.
